About 400 people have been left stranded after the government demolished structures at a community called Ayigbe town in the Tema Central constituency.

According to the affected residents (mostly Voltarians and Northerners), their troubles started when they attempted registering at a nearby registration centre.

Most of them had their citizenship challenged by the NPP agents who swore to have them moved from the constituency.

In a gestapo style Friday afternoon, Uniformed police and national security officers led a demolition exercise there.

According to the nursing mothers crying, the security forces did not allow them to pack out their belongings.
