#NPP2020: Dep. Chief of Staff Asenso-Boakye beats Okyem Aboagye

Deputy Chief of Staff Francis Asenso-Boakye has beaten the incumbent MP for Bantama in the Ashanti Region, Mr Daniel Okyem Aboagye, in the New Patriotic Party’s internal polls.Mr Asenso-Boakye polled 456 to beat Mr Okyem Abaogye, who had 122 votes.

There were 578 valid votes and one rejected ballot.

The total number of votes cast was 579.

In his victory speech, Mr Asenso-Boakye expressed appreciation to President Nana Akufo-Addo for adding him to his administration.

He also thanked all his supporters and urged the party to unite ahead of the national elections.

According to him, he missed a call from Mr Okyem Aboagye, which he believed would have been a concession call.
