The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) and Center for Democratic Development CDD-Ghana, have criticised the Electoral Commission’s pegging of the filing fee for Presidential Candidates at Ghc100,000.00.
This follows a 100 per cent increase in filing fees for Presidential Candidates by the EC.
In an interview with Radio Ghana, Programmes Manager for CODEO, Rhoda Afful said the increase is not justified, since the EC’s operations are funded by the State.
A Research Analyst with CDD, Gilfred Asiamah also described the amount as unacceptable.
