Some political watchers say the NPP’s internal divisions are becoming more apparent, especially as both Kennedy Agyapong and Dr. Bawumia are expected to battle for leadership ahead of the next election cycle.
The party’s Thank You Tour, intended to foster unity and appreciate its grassroots supporters after the electoral loss, is now being overshadowed by violent factional disputes. Analysts have called on party leaders to take urgent steps to restore calm and unity within the rank and file.
The alleged attack has also renewed public debate on the need for political parties in Ghana to instill discipline among their followers and maintain peace, even in times of defeat or leadership contests.
As the NPP continues its tour across the country, eyes will be on how the party addresses these growing tensions and whether it can present a united front going forward.
