A former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has been sacked from the party.

A letter from the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party dated July 27,  2021, to the former Deputy General Secretary said, “The National Democratic Congress considered the report and recommendations of the National Disciplinary Committee on the case of misconduct and anti-party behaviour brought against you (Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho), pursuant to Article 48 (1) (9) (a)  of the NDC Constitution.

It added: “The FEC acting in compliance of Article 48 (1) of the NDC Constitution unanimously adopted the report and accepts full responsibility for your expulsion from the party.

“You are, therefore, by this decision of FEC expelled from the NDC and for that matter, you are no more recognized as a member of the party and cannot carry yourself as such.”

The letter signed by the party’s General Secretary, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah added that Mr Anyidoho would forfeit any monies, dues or subscription fees he might have made to the party.

Koku reacts

When contacted, Mr Anyidoho declined to comment on what he described as “the purported letter.”

That was because, he claimed the party had not officially served him with any letter.

Besides, he said the name that is circulating on social media did not bear resemblance of his name.

 Background

The suspension letter to the former NDC Deputy General Secretary said, the action was taken pending the final determination of a petition submitted to the leadership of the party by some NDC members complaining about Mr Anyidoho’s conduct.

Dated February 8, 2021, the suspension statement signed by Mr Asiedu Nketiah said separate petitions were made to the FEC of the party against Mr Anyidoho for breaching the party’s disciplinary code for its members as contained in the NDC constitution.

“At its meeting on the 20th January. 2021, FEC considered two separate petitions from two registered members of the National Democratic Congress each of which lodged an official complaint against your conduct which is viewed to be in breach of the party’s disciplinary code for its members as contained in the NDC Constitution,” the letter said.

The petitioners were the Oti Regional Communications Officer) of the party, Mr Mubarak Abdul-Karim, and the Bono Regional Deputy Communications Officer, Mr Eric Adjei.
