Ferdinand | PoliticsGhana | April 2 |Nkwanta Hospital Health Officer in court for allegedly defiling 2 teenagers
Rick Azaglo, a 40-year-old public health promoter working with the Nkwanta South municipal hospital, is currently standing trial for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of two teenagers in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.
According to police reports, the accused person drugged the victims, aged 14 and 15, which caused them to pass out, in order to have sexual relations with their unconscious bodies.
The ordeal was revealed after the victims’ attitudes in school raised suspicion, and they were interrogated by the school authorities. The Nkwanta South social welfare was alerted, who subsequently reported the matter to the police.
The accused person was arrested and charged with the offense. Police prosecutor Detective Inspector Bright Nkansah informed the Jasikan circuit that the police retrieved exhibits that are yet to be forwarded to the FDA for analytical examination and report.
The accused person, Richard Azaglo, is yet to plead since the matter is under investigation.
The presiding judge at Jasikan circuit court, His Honour Alfred Kwabena Asiedu, advised prosecutor Detective Inspector Bright Nkansah to speed up the investigation.
Azaglo has been admitted to bail with the sum of GHS 10,000 and one surety and is expected to reappear in court on 13th April 2023. The case is being closely monitored, and more information will be made available to the public as the investigation progresses.
