The Circuit Court in Accra presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah has granted bail in the sum of GHc100, 000 to the Leader of the Economic Fighters League, Ernesto Yeboah.
In addition to the bail sum, he is to produce three sureties, two of whom shoukd be public servants.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charged for failing to notify police duly before organizing a public event.
He was arrested by security operatives at the Black Star Square in Accra last week Saturday for organizing a vigil against police brutality as similar protests were underway in the United States of America after the killing of George Floyd, an African-American man by police after the police knelt on his neck for over eight minutes.
Prosecution informed the court that, the accused person had gathered persons about 200 to stage black lives matter protest.
But when the police moved in to inquire if he had secure a permit, they found out through interrogation that he had none and was arrested as the leader and organizer of the group.
The case has been adjourned to July 7, 2020
