Actor, Oboy Siki has said that Tracey Boakye’s disclosure of making money from a rich man will encourage desperate young ladies to engage in Juju in order to also seek Sugar Daddies.
According to him, if they get these men to their side and they do not pay like how Tracey Boakye’s sugar daddy pays, they will be forced to use juju on these men to kowtow to their whims and caprices.
Boy Siki was speaking to Kofi TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com on the recent events happening on social media between some entertainers including Tracey Boakye, Mzbel and others.
“Now the what Tracey has done will encourage the young girls to go and take juju and use it on their sugar daddies if they do not pay like how Tracey Boakye’s sugar daddy is paying.”
Boy Siki said it is sad that these politicians and well to do men should desist from chasing these young ladies and take good care of their families because it’s of no use.
The failed actress now turned Evangelist Gloria Kani has indicated that things were going on smoothly between her and former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah until Tracey Boakye blocked her chances.
According to her, she was getting along pretty well with the man but because of something Tracey told Julius, he never heard from him again.
” Tracey called me to tell me that Vivian Jill ended my chances with Julius Debrah. She [Tracey] is evil she blocked my chances with Julius and later came to tell me that it’s Vivian Jill.”
The actress made this known in a Livestream on Instagram to pour out her frustration since she was friends with Tracey Boakye.
Gloria Kani said although she was the one who made them get access to John Dramani Mahama, it got to a time that Mahama stopped talking to her and she could only talk to him through Tracey Boakye’s phone because she told the man not to call her directly.
The Evangelist in a Livestream session made several startling revelations about how Tracey Boakye orders John Dramani Mahama around just because the man doesn’t want the world to know that he’s having an affair with her.
She put to rest the perception that Tracey’s baby is for either John Mahama and Julius Debrah because the actress is promiscuous.
Kumawood actor, Oboy Siki says he will be disappointed in God if he gets to heaven and meets any Politician there.
According to him, politicians are the most wicked people we have on earth who will do anything to suit their interests and not that of the masses.
Oboy Siki said although the bible frowns on stealing, these politicians are really good at it and will always siphon cash to better their lives.
Apart from stealing, he noted that politicians are also killers and will always give the go-ahead for people to be killed only if it will suit their interests.
Oboy Siki recalled that there was a regime in Ghana where people were killed and the human skull was always found on the street so for him, if God accepts a Politician into his abode, he will be very disappointed in him.
“If I see a politician in heaven, I will be disappointed in God. In politics, the young insults the old, and the old insults their counterparts. They also steal money that the bible is against. They kill people. We got to a point where were saw human head on the street of Ghana. When a Politician goes to the juju man and he asks for human blood, there is no way he/ she will say no, they will give the go-ahead. So If I meet even one politician in heaven, I will be disappointed.”
He cautioned Tracey Boakye and the others to desist from bringing Politicians in their issues and be careful with their lives because Politicians are wicked people and will stop at nothing to bring their lives to a halt.
Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh says he is not so sure whether he has fully recovered from the coronavirus infection he contracted or not.
He, however, believes he has recovered enough to resume work.
Dr Opoku Prempeh was one of the high profile ministers to have contracted the disease.
He was admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), where his case was managed.
Sharing his experience on TV3‘s Covid-19 360 with Berla Mundi on Thursday, August 13, Dr Opoku Prempeh described his situation as “horrible”.
“It was an experience I have said repeatedly that I don’t even wish for my enemy.”
He said it was after he experienced the disease that he came to the reality that, indeed, coronavirus “is here with us”.
For him, Ghanaians must take all the safety protocols seriously as “it is not a situation I would want anybody to get into”.
He recounts that despite feeling a little bit of malaise about 10 days before he was hospitalised, he got tested for the virus upon advice from close associates but the result came out negative.
But he said after returning from his acclamation as the Manhyia South Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he decided to voluntarily take some tests at the UGMC, having gone there to visit a relative admitted for Covid-19.
It was on his way back that the doctors told him that one of the tests taken, a CT scan, was “bad enough” for him to stay home.
He said the doctor told him that “even though you don’t have so-called symptoms of COVID, your CT test is bad enough that we will need to admit you”.
“And your CT looked like COVID even though your test is negative.”
He said he was hesitant initially but he would have died if he had not gone.
“I was breathing like crazy. So, we escaped death in seconds. It would have been fatal.”
He said he was there for two weeks, during which same period he heard about the death of the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie.
Dr Opoku Prempeh confessed that he had the belief that he would survive after that close shave with death.
The fire that erupted in the early hours of Friday, August 14, 2020 has destroyed several properties at the Electoral Commission’s office in Accra.
The fire which started at about 2.30 am, consumed almost everything in the said building located at Sapeiman in the Ga West Municipality which also serves as the Regional Office of the election management body.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation by the Fire Service and the Ghana Police Service.
Early on in the coronavirus pandemic, Ghana received high praise for its containment measures but as lockdowns were lifted prematurely, that image has slipped away and cases have risen. As the country prepares for a general election in December, its democracy appears to be at risk of a similar backslide.
Ghana has been governed by President Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) since the last elections held in 2016. Though US President Barack Obama once said Ghana was a “model for democracy” in Africa, the current government now appears to be reversing this trend through repressive policies and corrupt practices.
Ahead of the general election in December, Akufo-Addo’s government is forcing all citizens to re-register to vote, despite the pandemic still restricting movement for many citizens. The government announced the new voter registration requirement without any public consultation or due process.
The measure was pushed through despite significant controversy in Parliament and has come under fire from many, including the Ghana Medical Association, which said the re-registration process may expose citizens to COVID-19 and will violate coronavirus prevention protocols.
According to Akufo-Addo, the re-registration is intended to prevent voter fraud – however, no proof of fraudulent voting has been shown. Opposition groups, on the other hand, say the re-registration process is entirely unnecessary and has the effect of eliminating a crucial number of opposition voters from the electoral process.
These types of authoritative measures, rarely seen in Ghana, signal a shift in the country’s governance from a democratic process to something that more resembles authoritarianism. The ruling party has even begun condoning violence and political intimidation.
In July, Member of Parliament Mavis Hawa Koomson came to a voter registration centre in Kasoa with a group of staff and fired a weapon in the air, terrorising and threatening citizens. Koomson, who is also the minister for special development initiatives, reportedly came to the registration centre because she heard the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party was bussing in voters to help them register.
Koomson has held office since 2012 and, as a member of the NPP, likely considers the move to register NDC supporters to be a threat to her re-election. Koomson later said she fired the shots because she felt her and her staff were unsafe.
There has also been an increased military presence, supported by the ruling party, to “maintain order” at registration centres, especially in the Volta region. The military says their deployment is intended to prevent citizens from neighbouring Togo from registering to vote. However, the opposition party NDC and others in Parliament have said the soldiers are intended to keep the ethnic Volta and Togolese Ghanain minority in the region from participating in the election.
“The voters’ registration process is governed by law and if you have cause to question any person of his citizenship, do so rightfully in accordance with the law, not with the intimidation of a gun or a weapon,” said Parliament minority leader Haruna Iddrisu.
The chief of the ethnic Aflao Traditional Area in Volta has also called on military troops to stop the “brutalising of innocent civilians” after several incidents involving soldiers around the Aflao area.
Alongside these tactics, the Akufo-Addo government has also moved to stem public criticism of its policies during Covid-19 and the run-up to the December election.
In May, police raided the offices of Radio XYZ, a station affiliated with the NDC opposition. The National Communications Authority then shut down both Radio XYZ and another outlet affiliated with the NDC, Radio Gold, claiming they had breached regulations. This move against media outlets ahead of the election only highlights what is the beginning of a corrupt abuse of power on the part of the ruling authorities.
Broader cases of corruption have also been brought into the spotlight recently, showcasing the government’s deep-rooted efforts to keep officials in power despite evidence against them.
In late June, Akufo-Addo and the ruling party ordered Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, a renowned advocate against public corruption, to take all 123 days of his “allotted leave”. The order is largely seen as a response to Domelevo’s role in charging Senior Finance Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo and four other officials for corruption.
In late 2019, the auditor-general found evidence that the Finance Ministry officials were involved in an unusual payment of US$1 million to British consultancy firm Kroll & Associates — it’s unclear whether the firm delivered any services in exchange for the payment. The move to censure Domelevo drew condemnation from over 500 civil society organisations.
Domelevo also uncovered that some members of Parliament and other high-ranking officials in positions of privilege have received scholarships from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), a charity intended to support disadvantaged Ghanaians.
This type of corruption hampers efforts to preserve Ghana’s reputation as a democratic haven in Africa and could throw the country into disarray as it struggles with the impacts of Covid-19 and heads to the polls this December. What was once a shining example of liberal democracy in a region rife with conflict may be on the precipice of sliding into violence itself.
It is incumbent on the international media to start paying attention to the erosion of democracy in one of Africa’s strongest success stories. Journalists and analysts have a responsibility to highlight how corruption, violence, and new authoritarian measures are damaging Ghana’s democratic values.

The Minister for Education, Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, has touted the government’s achievement in his sector outlining various policies instituted to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
He, however, did not give an indication as to the plan for schools, which have been closed since March 2020 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Opoku-Prempeh was heavy on the actions of the government like the implementation of the abolition of the three months pay policy, the reversal of the cancellation of the teacher training allowance among others.
He was also keen to note these achievements trumped that of the Mahama administration.
Key to the Akufo-Addo administration’s record on education has been the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme.
“To date, over 1.2 million students have benefited from the Free SHS programme which has expanded access to secondary education and enabled an extra 400,000 students to enrol in Senior High School,” he noted.
Beyond the metrics of access, the Minister also said the government had an eye on quality.
“…we recognize that access alone is no adequate in guaranteeing the quality of education we desire. For this reason, the government is committed to ensuring quality and relevant education that will produce confident, skilled and global citizens who are ready and able to compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world.”
Dr. Opoku-Prempeh also spoke about the teaching interventions at the basic level.
“To improve the quality of education, we have had to increase the supply of trained teachers to our basic schools. Within the period, the pupil to trained teacher ratio has improved to 1:37 at the Kindergarten level and 1:33 at the Primary level in 2019. The percentage of trained teachers has also improved to 88 per cent at the Primary level,” he noted.
He further said since the current government took office in January 2017, it has employed a total of 66,357 teaching and non-teaching staff in the pre-tertiary sector as of the end of 2019.
“Further, financial clearance has been obtained to recruit an additional 27,367 teaching and non-staff, comprising 16,500 newly qualified teachers, 6,500 graduate teachers, 3,232 replacement staff and 1,135 non-teaching staff.”
“This brings the total to a staggering 93,724 employed by the end of this year for pre-tertiary. At the tertiary level, we have since 2017 we have recruited a total of 6,176 staff,” he added.
Criticism from Minority
But a Ranking Member on the Education Committee of Parliament, Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, chided the Minister for shying away from pressing issues in the education sector in favour of politics.
“Ghanaians were expecting him to tell us this afternoon what programmes are being put in place for the resumption of schools especially at the basic and senior high school levels.”
“Our children have been home for five months now [because of the coronavirus pandemic]. What is the way forward? He failed to tell us,” Mr. Nortsu-Kotoe said.
The legislator insisted that the Minister should have spoken directly to the status of schools and outlined a plan “so Ghanaians will know if children will go to school or not go to school”.
Award-winning freelance investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has argued that Professor Kwamena Ahwoi’s book, Working with Rawlings, which catalogues some embarrassing details about former President Jerry John Rawlings, will not affect the chances of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2020 General Elections, asserting that former President Rawlings no longer wields much influence to determine the victory or defeat of the NDC.
Many analysts have said that the timing of Prof Ahwoi’s launch of the book- a few months to the elections- has the potential of derailing the chances of the party in the upcoming elections given that the seemingly embarrassing or uncomplimentary revelations constitute campaign arsenal for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)
Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Ghana, Ransford Gyampo, has asserted that the release of the book at this crucial time is a misjudgment that can negatively affect the fortunes of the NDC.
But Mr Azure Awuni, who is famed for his exposés on the corruption of the political elite, has disagreed with the assertions:
“I fail to see how Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi’s book is an attack on the NDC and its chances in the next election. Former President Rawlings, who’s mainly the subject of “negative” revelations in the book, is no longer central to the success of the NDC.
The NDC is gradually shifting away from the cult system when the founder’s/founders’ influence was so enormous that it could determine the victory or defeat of the party,” he stated.
Mr Azure Awuni went on to explain that Prof Ahwoi’s book serves a useful purpose in throwing light on the happenings in the Rawlings era since Rawlings himself is yet to write.
“Prof. Ahwoi is an insider. The Ahwoi Brothers have been very influential in the NDC. It doesn’t mean that everything he says is true but writing about the happenings in the Rawlings era is important, especially when Rawlings himself has not written. Those with different accounts should write theirs.
A book on the role of the Ahwoi Brothers in the NDC won’t be bad. And this might push Rawlings to publish his memoir instead of always defending himself against other publications,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the book has continued to divide opinions with some leading members of the NDC accusing him of attempting to undermine the role of Rawlings in the party.

NPP MP AND HIS REBELS VIOLENCE LEADING TO DEATH OF KOFI LABET CONDEMNABLE.
The National Democratic Congress in Dormaa West Constituency is appalled with the impudence, violence and impunity that has characterised the voter registration exercise by the New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament, Hon.Ali Maiga Halidu and his rebel group which has led to the untimely death, Kofi Labet, an NPP member, who was mistakenly shot by the violence infested rebels with others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
The violent activities of Hon. Ali Maiga Halidu and his rebels in once peaceful and serene political environment has led to a state of anarchy and pandemonium.
The good people of Dormaa West, the security, Nananom, opinion leaders and faith-based organizations have known no peace since the NPP and Ali Maiga took over the reins of power in 2017, which the voter registration exercise is no exception.
These acts of lawlessness and utmost disrespectful for law and order by the NPP MP and his bunch of bloodthirsty rebels with impunity and abuse of incumbency in the name of “our government is power”, reached its uncontrollable level on the 08/08/2020 leading the death of KOFI LABET.
The events and circumstances leading to this unfortunate and barbaric incident by the NPP hoodlums can be summarised as follows;
The NPP rebel group besieged the office of the Electoral Commission where the mop-up exercise of the voter registration was taking place at dawn, ostensibly to manage the security of the place.
The Military and other state security lost control of the situation and were prevented from maintaining law and order from the early hours of 8th August by these hoodlums..
The NDC led by the Parliamentary Candidate and Constituency Chairman, Hon Vincent Oppong and Asamoah and Alhaji Seiba Abdullai, respectively, in consultation with the leadership of the NDC decided not to allow the NDC members to go anywhere around the Electoral Commission’s office which had by then been taken over by NPP rebels in order to prevent any possible clash.
The NPP rebels under the instructions of the part’s youth organizer, Acquah Ibrahim, and two biological brothers of Hon Ali Maiga, under no provocation, attacked and beat to pulp, one Chairman Seidu, an NDC branch chairman who is currently receiving treatment at Nkrankwanta District Hospital.
These uncivilised rebels attacked, Mr Charles Asante, an executive member of the NDC who was driving some few meters away from the EC’s office to purchase fuel into his car and smashing rear screen and other parts of his car.
These NPP hoodlums/rebels had secured all the entry points leading the E. C’s office, thus, assaulting or turning away any known NDC member from registering.
As at 2 pm, no NDC member or supporter had been able to register and the only agent of the NDC had been prevented by the NPP agents and an E. C official by name, Amofa, from issuing any challenge form against supposed intruders as stipulated by the electoral laws after he had successfully challenged three people. It’s important to note that, the NDC, at this point had only one agent at the EC’s office, the deputy youth organizer of the NDC, Don James.
As a peace-loving and law-abiding political party, the NDC approached and pleaded with the EC officials and security agencies to send the rebels from the EC’s office to provide fair and level playing field but these pleas yielded no results for six continuous hours.
In the late hours of the day, some NDC supporters moved to the other side of the road to the EC’s office, opposite where the NPP’s rebels were seated.
This move by NDC supporters infuriated the rebel group resulting in the the driver of the MP, Bugi, who stormed out of the registration centre with top speed, only to return with sporadic shooting.
The harmless and unarmed NDC supporters were now at the mercy of this known notorious criminal, BUGI, driver of Ali Maiga, who was shooting aimlessly at NDC members, which resulted in one, Kwame Grutan, sustaining gunshot injuries and is currently relying on the mercies of God and Doctors at Sunyani Regional Hospital.
At this juncture, the security personnel led by the Police and Military responded with a series of warning shots whiles the rebels led by Acquah Ibrahim and Bugi fired back at the security personnel.
13.These truant rebels in the course of the sporadic, footloose and fancy-free shot out at the NDC members unfortunately misfired and shot at one of their own, Kofi Labet, who died instantly.
May his soul rest in peace.
The NDC in the Dormaa West constituency wishes to at this stage call Nananom, the Security Agencies, Opinion Leaders, Local council of Churches and Civil Society Organizations to call the NPP Member of Parliament for Dormaa West Constituency and his loose rebel group to order before they destroy the peace we have been enjoying in the area.
The people of Dormaa West need good roads, electricity, schools, Hospitals, farm inputs from the failed Ali Maiga Halidu and the NPP but not Gun Shots and uncultured display of machoism.
