Ferdinand | PoliticsGhana | May 21 |2023 By-Election: Dr Kwabena Duffuor joins Mahama, Others at Kumawu ahead of By-Election
A former Presidential Candidacy aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Kwabena Duffour in Kumawu as part of a delegation to the Kumawu Constituency to campaign for the party’s parliamentary candidate in the upcoming by-election.
Slated for May 23, 2023, the by-election follows the death of the MP for the constituency who will be buried on Saturday.
The leadership of the NDC has been in the constituency supporting the candidate, Akwasi Amankwa, and his executives in the campaign.
John Mahama
President Mahama also joined the national chairman and others already on the ground to lend his support to the campaign.
Mr. Mahama is expected to call on the chief of Kumawu, before meeting various groupings to campaign.
Meeting With the police
The General Secretary of the NDC, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey on Sunday, May 21, 2023, disclosed that the party Chairman, himself and other Leadership of the NDC met the Leadership of the Police Service team in charge of the By-election in Kumawu to reassure them of our cooperation in ensuring a peaceful By-election.
He indicated, that the NDC will not be part of illegal tactics and violence before, during or after the elections and hope the police will be impartial in the enforcement of law and order during the elections.
”The Police assured the team that they are the only Security Service managing Law and Order in the elections on Tuesday.” He assured.
”In unity, the entirety of the Party is campaigning thoroughly for a win in Kumawu.” He said.
