2 students with dreadlocks allegedly denied admission to Achimota School

Two students with dreadlocks have allegedly been denied admission into the Achimota Senior High School.

According to JoyNews’ sources, school authorities claim it is against the rules of the school to admit students with dreadlocks.

“School authorities of Achimota school have denied two brilliant dreadlock students from being admitted after having been posted there by the Computerised School Placement System,” a parent whose son was among the two students shared on Facebook.

Meanwhile, former Kumbugu MP, Ras Mubarak has questioned the school’s decision.

According to the MP, the move is a violation of articles 21(1)(c), 25(1), 26(1) 28(3) and 28(4) of the 1992 Constitution.

Mr Mubarak in a Facebook post said the Constitution makes it clear that no child should be deprived by any other person of medical treatment, education or any other social or economic benefit by reason only of religious or other beliefs.

Thus, the former MP said the decision to deny students admission on the basis of their Rasta culture is not a step in the right direction.

“Not accepting them into the school because of their dreadlocks is degrading treatment which is frowned upon under article 28(3). The school may have its rules, but those rules, and all other rules and laws are subservient to the constitution of Ghana. The supreme law of the land is the constitution,” he said.

He, therefore, has asked the school authorities to rescind their decision and admit the students.

“I hope the decision would be reversed, in the overall best interest of the school and the affected children,” he said.

The Achimota School is yet to respond to the issue.

Top 4 reasons Kojo Oppong Nkrumah was rejected by the Minority as Minister

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has been rejected by the Minority as Minister-designate for information.

The 13 members of the minority on Parliament’s Appointment Committee have voted against the approval of 3 of the President’s ministerial nominees.

The minority has also caused the deferment of a decision on five of the nominees.

Due to the equal numbers held by the majority and the minority which has reflected on the committee, the minority’s position equates to an outright lack of consensus on the affected nominees.

Here are the reasons:

a) The Minister-designate for Information was not the least candid with the
committee on the multiple infractions of the law leading to the Bank of Ghana’s
revocation of the license of Oval Microfinance – a company in which he was 83%
majority shareholder.

b) He failed to admit ethical liability for the related party lending between Oval
Microfinance and West Brownstone which also belongs to him. He also denied
outstanding obligations to Oval Microfinance despite the BoG’s examination
report establishing the contrary.

c) He peddled untruths under oath about the circumstances leading to investigative
journalist Manasseh Azure relocating to South Africa with the assistance of the

d) The nominee was quite evasive on his association with MX24 TV which is owned
and managed by his wife with other family members such as Kwabena Oppong
Nkrumah serving as shareholder/Trustee for the parent company of MX24 TV
known as Black Volta Publications Limited incorporated recently on the 4th of April,

Kyei Rocks Sings About His Former Slay Queen Girlfriend In A New Song “Dear Araba”

0
Afrobeat sensation, Kyei Rocks sings about his slay queen girlfriend.

Araba whom Kyei Rocks cheated on with her best friend. What do you do when your girlfriend catches you butt-naked, banging someone else on the bathroom floor? According to Kyei Rocks, his woman, whom he represents with the local name, Araba was a very serious slay queen who dated big men, but got bored because she caught him on the bathroom floor with her own friend one Wednesday afternoon.

According to close sources who confirmed the story, he related that “if your woman is a slay queen who is also sleeping with other men to make ends meet – then ‘forget yourself’. That’s his entire, shameless strategy for handling confrontations over infidelity. ”

As a result, he decided to use that in a song titled “Dear Araba”. The pop music industry is sustained by matters of the heart. Blooming love, failed love, unrequited love — there’s a song for every shade of romantic feeling. Naturally, there are also songs that explore the many facets of cheating. There are anthems from the betrayed, hell-bent on revenge. Other tracks are dripping with empathy. Kyei Rocks, a former member of Dark Suburb and Afro Harmony, has recently released a new EP where he dedicated one of the songs to recount his guilt-ridden unapologetic situation with a slay queen. He called the song Dear Araba which we cannot confirm whether that is the name of the slay queen.

All we know is that in explaining the situation, he only indicated that he would prefer to use the name Araba but as to whether that is the correct name, our team of investigative journalists would find out the veracity of the claim.

Kyei Rock – Dear Araba Lyric:
Chaley see this girlyie
She no dey pect aaah
Instagram that be where she dey bed
Slay queen mmm she no dey work
Only sugar daddy cheque she wedge
But small cheat I cheat she vex
Aaaaah she vex
Small cheat I cheat she vex
Ooooh she vex”

Listen to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvxGs9ZsiUM&list=PLqEtY9NinVc6u3D9wN2aQz3TYCUIWh4zd&index=4

To be fair to Kyei Rocks, he does feel bad about his inability to stay faithful on the second verse of the song— he just doesn’t think there’s anything to do about it. Leopards can’t change their spots, he seems to say, so why bother trying?

Listen to the song and judge for yourself.
