Wendy Shay Evangelizes With New Single: John 8:7, Honoring Ebony

0

Rufftown Records Diva, Wendy Shay drops a new single quoting John 8:7. This quote happens to be the title of the song. She features the legendary Ebony who passed on three (3) years ago. Dropping the song, she made this statement:

Ebony 620x620 1

Happy Birthday, Queen Ebony. You inspired me to join Rufftown records. It’s a great honour to be on this great song with you. Yours, Wendy Shay“.

It is believed that she dropped this single featuring Ebony with the aim of keeping her legacy alive. Few also thinks that it is Rufftown’s plan to still make more money from Ebony. But what no one expected is how the title of this song was going to make an impact from a religious perspective.

It is amazing how many decided to refer to their Bible to really know what exactly can be found in the book of john 8:7. Many asked themselves why Wendy Shay decided to use John 8:7 as the title of the song. I know you are asking the same thing. Well, I quote from the New International Version (NIV)….

“When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Now when you listen to the song and you read what’s written in the scriptures, you will realise that Wendy Shay is quizzing the general public that if we are without sin, then we can judge her. But if we are not, then we should leave her alone.

I know many will have a different perspective about this, but no doubt about it, the first day you saw the title of this song, you went for your Bible to know what is there.

The floor is open for your take on the scriptures in John 8:7. What do you think Wendy Shay is communicating to us?

No right thinking person will put up her sister for cross-examination by Tsatsu – Franklin Cudjoe

0

Having watched Tsatsu Tsikata’s output at the Supreme Court, and arguments about the need for the Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa to mount the witness box, President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe thinks it’d be torturous for anyone to put themselves in a position to be cross-examined by the former.

In a seemingly sarcastic tweet on his timeline, he said nobody “in his or her right frame of mind, seeing what Tsatsu is doing will put his or her sister in harm’s way by forcing her into a witness box”

His tweet follows legal arguments by the parties involved in the election petition on why the court should dismiss the motion by the respondents or grant the Petitioner a request to cross-examine their witnesses

Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata argued that the EC chairperson showed readiness for cross-examination when she filed a witness statement and supporting affidavits in response to the petitioner.

He argued that the objection for Jean Mensa to mount the witness box for cross-examination “is not only an affront to justice but is not in  accordance with the rules of the court.

The first respondent also argues that the rules of the court, specifically Order 38 (4)(4) of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, C.I. 47 allowed the EC, which is the first respondent in the petition, not to adduce evidence.

Meanwhile, the apex court will, on February 11, 2021, decide on the fate of 1st respondent; the Electoral Commission Chair and whether or not she should mount the witness box.

Can I answer to you one at a time! – Tsatsu clashes with Supreme Court bench

0

Exchanges between lead counsel for the petitioner in the 2020 Presidential Election Petition hearing, Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata, and some justices on the bench hearing the petition in Supreme Court bench, escalated to a point where Tsikata had to demand to answer a question at a time.

Mr. Tsikata was arguing his case as to why the 1st and 2nd Respondents cannot close their cases without further adducing evidence as they moved motions to do on Monday, February 8.

Lawyers for the 1st and 2nd Respondents on Monday moved motions to close their cases without calling further witnesses after the petitioner had close his close following the discharge of his 3rd witness.

Mr. Tsikata raised an objection against the applications and insisted the chair of the 1st Respondent EC must enter the witness box and be cross-examined.

The court fixed Tuesday for all parties to advanced their legal arguments for the court to decide on.

However, there was a dramatic encounter when Mr. Tsikata took his turn to make his arguments.

Counsel for the Petitioner held that inasmuch as Justice Apau had the legal leeway to seek further clarification from the witness, personal opinions cannot be part.

Justice Apau, however, pointed out that he only wanted to understand the issues better hence the questioning, and sought to find out from Mr Tsikata in what way his questioning was harassment of the witness.

More Questions From Judges

In furtherance of the same issue more of the judges asked the witness why both agents of the Petitioner should leave the EC’s strong room.

They further wanted to ascertain whether Dr Kpessa Whyte had any training before taking up the responsibility as the Petitioner’s agent in the EC strong room and whether they, as agents, were to take instructions from the EC Boss.

For most parts of his arguments, members of the bench interjected either to seek clarity or to draw his attention to something he may have overlooked.

It got to a point where Mr Tsikata was answering a question posed to him by one of the Justices. While at it, another Justice asked him another question. A seemly incensed Tsikata demanded he is allowed to answer one question at a time.

“Please, can I answer to you one at a time!”, he demanded.

He then proceeded to make his arguments insisting the EC chair must enter the witness box to testify to her witness statement that she signed.

My Appreciation…

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus…Philippians 4:6-7

I choose these words from scripture to express my appreciation, thoughts and conviction for what the good Lord did for me, delivering me from the deadly clutch of COVID-19. 5 nights I spent at the emergency ward of the Nyaho Medical Center, and I came face-to-face with the reality of fighting for one’s life. God saved me, and I give thanks to him eternally.

Let’s wash our hands regularly with soap under running water, use alcohol-based sanitisers, wear nose mask and avoid crowded areas. They are life-saving measures.

Thanks

“Management is deeply saddened by his loss, with his rich experience in the training of pharmacists in Ghana,” Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, the University Relations Officer, told Ghana News Agency in an interview.

The University authorities say Prof Kuffour died of cardiac complications after he was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on the dawn of Friday, February 5.

Dr Bekoe said the late Prof. Kuffour had been involved in the training of traditional medical practitioners across the country and the West African Sub-region.

He appealed to the media “to desist from sensationalising his death and grant his family some privacy.”

Owusu Bempah names Agyinasare, Korankye Ankrah, other big pastors who see him for prophetic help

Founder and Leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministry, Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah has named a list of particular senior pastors in Ghana who he says criticize his methods out of jealousy because they visit him for prophetic guidance.

According to him, it’s shocking the Ghanaians and especially the Christendom find fault with the methods of people who are filled with the prophetic unction.

“There is a lot of power in Ghana but it saddens me that Ghanaians do not appreciate the power of God that we have here but I don’t blame them; I blame some of the pastors because they are jealous of the prophetic ministry.”

The Prophet indicates that what hurts him is the fact that these same individuals who castigate his methods publicly and find fault with whatever he does come to his chambers to seek the face of the lord and also ask what God has said about them.

He disclosed that Pastors including Apostle-General Sam Korankye Ankrah and Archbishop Charles Agyinasare are people who frequent his place but will turn around to condemn him in public.

“God is my witness, I’m telling you that he sometimes invites me to his office and ask me about what God has told me about him; I can’t lie in a live interview, God is my witness; as for Pastor Sam Korankye Ankrah, he has even mounted my pulpit to preach after I gave him a prophetic word”, he revealed.

He continued “as for Bishop Agyinasare, I’m waiting for the day that he will come out to say that I have never given him a prophecy; in fact, I challenge him to come out to say so and I will prove to the whole world and those of his junior pastors who was there at the time and who still consult me that I’m speaking the truth”.

Election Petition: We were going to ask Mahama about his Peace Council meeting – Rojo Mettle-Nunoo

“Having regard to her earlier reference to the meeting between the Peace Council and the Petitioner, which she had obviously been briefed about, I took seriously what she said,” Rojo Mettle-Nunoo, the petitioner’s third witness has said in a witness statement to the Supreme Court dated 4 February 2021.

Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo, one of the witnesses testifying for Petitioner John Dramani Mahama in the ongoing election petition at the Supreme Court was explaining what made the NDC representatives at the Strongroom of the Electoral Commission (EC) leave for the Petitioner’s residence on 9 December, the day the Chairperson of the EC declared the December 7, 2020, results.

Check This Out: Bawumia’s 2024 candidature can break 8-year cycle – Lecturer

Dr Michael Kpessa-Whyte, who was the second witness for the Petitioner, during cross-examination, told the court that his colleague, Rojo Mettle-Nunoo, informed him of an instruction by the EC to deliver a message to John Dramani Mahama who is the petitioner in the case.

This allegation by Dr Kpessah-Whyte has since been questioned, as many believe Mettle-Nunoo, who personally interacted with the EC boss should have testified to it at the Supreme Court.

A Supreme Court judge even told Kpessa-White that he had let his candidate down by leaving the ‘Strongroom’.

This led to hot exchanges between the judge and Tsatsu Tsikata, lead counsel for the petitioner, who told the judge bluntly that he was harassing the witness with his “opinion” when the witness had stated the facts as he knew it, and that the behaviour of the judge was “wrong”.

But Mettle-Nunoo has corroborated Kpessa-White’s account by saying that he made it known to everyone in the “Strongroom” at the EC headquarters that “we had been sent to convey a message to the NDC presidential candidate” and that they “had absolutely no other reason to leave”.

In his witness statement to the court, Mettle-Nunoo explained in paragraph 23 thus: “Mrs Jean Mensa informed me that there had been a meeting held earlier in the day between the Petitioner and the Peace Council, something I was unaware of at the time. After I further drew her attention to some of the issues that were coming up in the interactions in the Strongroom, she said very directly that we should go and speak with the Petitioner.”

He continued: “Having regard to her earlier reference to the meeting between the Peace Council and the Petitioner, which she had obviously been briefed about, I took seriously what she said. I did not think that we, who were acting as agents of the Petitioner, should be seen as taking positions which may be contrary to what the Petitioner himself had conveyed in a meeting that I was unaware of with a body such as the Peace Council which, I know, has an important role in resolving disputes in connection with elections and calming tensions in the country. She indicated her willingness to meet with the Petitioner.”

He indicated that he was struck by the fact that she proposed that she would send a dispatch rider to help them, that is, Mettle-Nunoo and Dr Kpessa-Whyte, get back to the EC headquarters on time for the declaration of the results on December 9, 2020.

“There was nothing in the discussions which could have given me any reason for doubting the word of the Chairperson of the EC. Indeed, having worked with her previously when I was a consultant to the IEA [Institute of Economic Affairs], I had no reason not to trust her. I took her at her word and I must say I was really shocked to realise how she had proceeded to make a declaration of result at a time when she knew that my colleague and I had left the premises at her instance. I can still remember her saying that she would even send a dispatch rider to hasten our return to the EC headquarters after our consultation with the Petitioner,” Rojo Mettle-Nunoo stated further.

“We left our belongings, including computers and bags in the strongroom at the time we left,” he further averred. “My colleague left his vehicle at the premises of the EC.”

It is not clear whether Mettle-Nunoo will testify in open court because some concerns were raised about the health condition of a possible witness prior to his witness statement being filed.

Race to replace Akufo-Addo: Bawumia, Alan would need each other – Ben Ephson

The Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, could lose the primaries to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024, except he is supported by Alan John Kyerematen, Ben Ephson has said.

Ben Ephson, who is a senior Journalist and a pollster with written materials on analysis of elections, made this known Tuesday, February 3, 2021, on Angel FM’s ‘Anopa Bofo?’ morning show with Captain Smart.

According to him, Ashanti Region – the stronghold of the NPP – would vote against Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the Presidential election, if he contests and wins the primaries.

Likewise, Trade and Industries Minister-nominee, suffer the same fate from people of northern descent, if he becomes the governing party’s candidate for the 2024 Presidential contest.

Options available

However, the managing editor for the Daily Dispatch newspaper advises the NPP stands a better chance of winning in 2024 if it allows either of the two men to run as Presidential candidate and the other his running mate.

“There is one possibility: Dr. Bawumia should run as President supported by Alan Kyerematen, or Kyerematen supported by Dr Bawumia as his Vice-President.” Mr Ephson suggested.

Another possibility that might play in Bawumia’s favour is for the sitting president, Nana Akufo-Addo to abdicate power to Bawumia in his last year of office as President.

“President Nana Akufo-Addo should in his last year of office, resign with sick leave and allow Bawumia to govern the country as President. Dr Bawumia would then make Alan Kyerematen his Vice and take it from there.”

Mr Ben Ephson’s comments came at the back of some polls he conducted that suggest that some five persons are likely to contest flagbearer position in the NPP to replace Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of 2024 elections.

These persons include current Vice president, Dr. Bawumia; Alan Kyerematen, Minister-designate for Trade and Industries; Joe Ghartey former Minister for Railways; Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, former Member for Parliament for Offinso North Constituency and Boakye Agyako, the former Minister for Energy.

‘You failed Mahama’ comment by judge has ‘poisoned’ petitioner’s case before judgment – Lawyer

0

A member of the Communication Team for the Petitioner in the ongoing Presidential Election Petition, Lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, has described the opinion of one of the Supreme Court judges presiding over the case, Justice Yaw Apau, as “prejudicial”.

According to him, Justice Yaw Apau’s comment that the 2nd witness of the petitioner, Dr Michael Kpessa Whyte “failed the petitioner”, former President John Dramani Mahama means he has passed judgement on the matter even before proceedings conclusively ends.

Harassment

During Tuesday’s hearing, Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, Counsel for the Petitioner, openly accused the court of harassing Dr Michael Kpessa Whyte, the second witness of the Petitioner.

This was after Justice Yaw Apau, a member of the panel, had sought to find out from the witness if by leaving the Strong Room of the Electoral Commission he helped the course of the Petitioner.

“You did not help the course of the Petitioner by leaving the strong room of the EC,” he said.

Mr Tsikata, however, vehemently opposed the question, saying: “The Supreme Court is harassing the witness.”

Entitled To Your Opinion

Counsel for the Petitioner held that inasmuch as Justice Apau had the legal leeway to seek further clarification from the witness, personal opinions cannot be part.

Justice Apau, however, pointed out that he only wanted to understand the issues better hence the questioning, and sought to find out from Mr Tsikata in what way his questioning was harassment of the witness.

More Questions From Judges

In furtherance of the same issue more of the judges asked the witness why both agents of the Petitioner should leave the EC’s strong room.

They further wanted to ascertain whether Dr Kpessa Whyte had any training before taking up the responsibility as the Petitioner’s agent in the EC strong room, and whether they, as agents, were to take instructions from the EC Boss.

Evidence Act, Section 58

Commenting on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe said that the Evidence Act, section 58 permits Justice Yaw Apau to make inquiries and also seek clarification by way of questions, but not permitted in the course of proceeding to express his opinion that will be prejudicial to the case of the person who is in the witness box.

“You have already come to the conclusion that the witness ought not to have left the strong room of the Electoral Commission (EC). Some of these things, if you don’t exercise restraint, you will say what you are not supposed to say. This is why Mr Tsikata said that ‘you are now harassing the witness with your opinion”, he argued.

Whiles calling for circumspection from the panel by keeping their opinions to themselves during court proceedings, Edudzi Tamakloe believed that such a comment from a seasoned judge like Justice Yaw Apau could have compelled any lawyer to end the case.

“What is the essence of continuing the matter? It was that piece of a question he asked that the NPP is going about making noise with. The comment of the judge has now poisoned the case of the petitioner even before judgment”, he claimed.
