A Burkinabe bound truck loaded with frozen foods, lost control and somersaulted on the Accra toll booth section of the Tema Accra Motorway, leaving the driver and the mate of the truck in seriously injured.
The Burkinabe bound cargo truck with registration number 11 HH 4958, was carrying some 20 tonnes of frozen foods, when it lost control somersaulting to the shoulders of the Accra Tollbooth section of the Tema Motorway.

Eyewitnesses say the driver who was on top speed, might have been sleeping behind the wheels and tried to move back on track after regaining conscious.

The situation nearly prompted a mad rush for Frozen foods by persons living around but for the timely intervention of the police and some cargo truck drivers who were also in a convoy.
The presence of the police also managed to scale down the huge vehicular traffic that had sprung up on the Tema Motorway due to the accident.
Both driver and mate of the truck who are seeking medical treatment at the Tema General Hospital are responding to treatment.

This weekend’s accident comes barely 48 hours after a similar accident happened on the same spot which saw dozens of good samaritan’s and passersby rushing for beer.
